Is the Holy Spirit seal on the believer when one first believes different than the filling or baptism of Him?

The following question was submitted by t a m i l: Is the Holy Spirit seal on the believer when one first believes different than the filling or baptism of Him?
2. And is the filling or baptism really the ability to receive the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit?

3. And are the gifts received really directly receiving power from the Holy Angels?

Since the Spirit of God is One Spirit, but the gifts are different. And so God is One while Angels are different spirit persons.

When you confess to jesus your sins and accept him as Savior and God then you are heading to heaven and not hell.

Then you ask for Jesus to come and flood you will his Holy SPirit and then Mark 16, 1 Cor and Luke 11 happens where you start having gifts manifest.

The Holy Spirit filling comes naturally when you draw closer to jesus or you can be filled by an impartation by laying of hands like in Acts 19

I started praying in other tongues and prophecying and receiving gifts right there in my bedroom so that when I go out in public they are ready and activated and I see and know about people and things without anyone telling me

God knows who is Truly His.

    The Word says, Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, Be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

You must first believe, repent, be baptized in the name, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit is seperate. With the baptism of the Holy Spirit there will be the evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue…Sometimes the baptism of the spirit comes first and sometime baptism in Jesus name comes first.
There are so many beliefs when there is only one…

The gifts are from God the power is from God

    Acts 19:2-4
2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

    Hope this helps

    1. The Christian receives the seal of the Holy Spirit when they receive the Holy Spirit at salvation. The Lord through Paul says that we are sealed by God, and we know that we are sealed by the fact that we have received the Holy Spirit.

    2 Cor. 1:22
Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

The word seal in the Greek here is “Sphragizo” which means “in order to mark a person or a thing”. It is God’s way of place a mark upon our lives that make us a witness to a lost world.

    2. Yes. 1 Cor. 12:4-8.

    3. No. The Gifts of the “Spirit” are just that, the Gifts OF the SPIRIT and given by Him, not angels.
    1 Cor. 12
    12:4
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
    12:5
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
    12:6
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
    12:7
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

    Hope this helps.

Only you can receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit when you have willingly surrendered your life to the Lord. Then you can recieve the seven gifts. It is the supernatural entry of the Holy Spirit into your life. The seven gifts from the Catechism are:

Wisdom- With the gift of wisdom, we see God at work in our lives and in the world. For the wise person, the wonders of nature, historical events, and the ups and downs of our lives take on deeper meaning. The matters of judgment about the truth, and being able to see the whole image of God.

Understanding – With the gift of understanding, we comprehend how we need to live as a follower of Jesus Christ. A person with understanding is not confused by all the conflicting messages in our culture about the right way to live. Also called “Common Sense,” the gift of understanding perfects a person’s speculative reason in the apprehension of truth. It is the gift whereby self-evident principles are known.

Counsel (Right Judgment) – With the gift of right judgment, we know the difference between right and wrong, and we choose to do what is right. A person with right judgment avoids sin and lives out the values taught by Jesus. The gift of truth that allows the person to respond prudently, and happily to believe our Christ the Lord

Fortitude (Courage) – With the gift of courage, we overcome our fear and are willing to take risks as a follower of Jesus. A person with courage is willing to stand up for what is right in the sight of God, even if it means accepting rejection, verbal abuse, or even physical harm and death. The gift of Courage allows people the firmness of mind that is required both in doing good and in enduring evil, especially with regard to goods or evils that are difficult.

Knowledge – With the gift of knowledge, we understand the meaning of God’s Revelation, especially as expressed in the life and words of Jesus Christ. A person with knowledge is always learning more about the scriptures and Tradition. The gift of knowledge is more than an accumulation of facts.

Piety (Reverence) – With the gift of reverence, sometimes called piety, we have a deep sense of respect for God and the Church. A person with reverence recognizes our total reliance on God and comes before God with humility, trust, and love. Piety is the gift whereby, at the Holy Spirit’s instigation, we pay worship and duty to God as our Father, Aquinas writes.

Fear of the Lord (Awe of God) – With the gift of wonder and awe you who betrayed (fear of the lord), we are aware of the glory and majesty of God. A person with wonder and awe knows that God is the perfection of all we desire: perfect knowledge, perfect goodness, perfect power, and perfect love. This gift is described by Aquinas as a fear of separating oneself from God. He describes the gift as a “filial fear,” like a child’s fear of offending his father, rather than a “servile fear,” that is, a fear of punishment. Also known as knowing God is all powerful.

  • JamesH says:

In John 20:22, the newly resurrected Jesus “…breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’ ” They were born again by the Spirit.

Some days later, Jesus said (Acts 1:5) to the same disciples, “In a few days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Jesus clearly indicated to His disciples that the new birth by the Spirit and the baptism with the Spirit were entirely distinct experiences.
